Overview: Business gurus Jack Welch, Tom Peters and Marcus Buckingham think that teams that build things for people must reflect the customers they serve. They postulate that a lack of diversity in the workforce results in a smaller pool of ideas to draw on and decreases connection to the audience. And yet, the recently published IGDA report on workforce diversity in the games industry shows a startlingly white, young, male population. In this panel we examine how diversity impacts creativity and increases sales, as well as initiatives that broaden the workforce.
