A comprehensive design walkthrough from concept discovery to final of the feature that allowed playing football videogames with all players being user-controlled in an 11 on 11 online match for the first time: FIFA 11 Be A Goalkeeper. We will start describing the motivations behind Be A Goalkeeper. Why we wanted to do it and what were the high level goals. Then we'll move on to the walkthrough from concept discovery to the end product describing the different ideas, prototypes, problems and solutions - gameplay, visual aids, and cameras - that were involved in the development of this innovative feature.
