Overview The first thing that players encounter when they start up a game is the main menu. This is an opportunity to make an impression and forge an emotional connection with the player - and the UI continues to offer these opportunities throughout the course of a game. Joe Kowalski will unearth the lessons he learned working as a user interface designer on titles such as Guitar Hero and Brutal Legend, and whenever given the chance, he will bring in examples that range from the first Mac OS icons to the earliest movie title sequence.
