Overview: |
Getting from concept to execution is one of the biggest challenges in any creative endeavor. You've got to learn on the fly, make mistakes, take advantage of happy accidents, and most importantly, somehow find the confidence to actually release something. How do you then turn these games into a career? In this roundtable discussion, industry veteran Marcus Montgomery will discuss issues like these with students and alums of Gameheads, a program that gives younger folks a chance to experience live game development. This group has had to figure out what advice to absorb from industry mentors, forms teams with people of varying skill levels, and then try to turn all that into a compelling game, each semester. They know the struggle of just starting out, with that initial spark of creativity, and fighting through to release, while learning along the way.
