Overview: | This talk tackles the often-daunting topic of artificial intelligence, and how the new boom in AI technology might affect the games industry for good and bad. It covers some of the ethical issues posed by new AI technology, and some of the problems this could cause for indie game developers. It also looks at the more positive ways AI can enhance how games are made, played and understood, and how anyone can harness the power of AI to make games. The talk finishes with ideas in practice; looking at meaningful indie-relevant examples of AI-driven tools and games made by the Knives and Paintbrushes Collective. |
