Overview:

In Japan, the online game market has been growing. Recently a government-affiliated organization announced in their research reports stating that Japan's online game market was valued at 58 billion yen in 2004. Launching its services in December 2000, Hangame Japan has operated its site from the dawn of the Japanese online game market. The company's focus is to establish relationships between its users and provide good community service based on casual game contents. Today Hangame is one of the biggest online game portal websites in Japan. The number of registered IDs tops 15 million and the number of maximum concurrent users is over 120,000. This session will trace Hangame Japan's history from how the company's website grew, to the transfer from free to fee based service, an overview of the Japanese market, and the company's future vision.
