Overview: In this session, the presenter will describe the design and implementation of a games user research (GUR) course. The course was designed to help students understand methods for evaluating games, including when different methods should be used, how to perform them, and how to communicate findings. In addition to discussing the challenges and insights learned from teaching this course, the presenter will also discuss how to set up a GUR lab, including suggested equipment, software and required space. Emphasis will be placed on ensuring attendees have the information necessary to set up GUR labs and courses at their own institutions.
