Overview: While video games are increasingly more reflective of our own culture, they have lagged behind in some areas, most notably race. This session focuses on the subject of race and diversity in games and how to utilize it to not only create more cultural relevancy for the medium, but also create higher quality games. Panelists will discuss topics such as how to improve our in-game racial diversity, marketing and financial reasons this may be prudent, the role of workplace diversity in driving in-game diversity, and steps developers can take to improve how games deal with the subject matter of race.
