Session Name: User-Generated Content in inFAMOUS 2 (And Does It Make Sense for Your Game?)
Speaker(s): Chris Zimmerman
Company Name(s): Sucker Punch
Track / Format: Game Design
Overview:

In 2011's inFAMOUS 2, we added an innovative user-generated content feature, allowing players (armed only with a DualShock 3 controller) to create polished, full-featured missions, then share those missions with the world. Six months after launch, over 100,000 missions had been created and these missions had been played over 10 million times. This talk covers the decision to add UGC as a feature, shows highlights of the missions players have created, discusses our successes and failures with the design and implementation and analyzes how successful the feature was, all with an eye towards helping you decide whether user-generated content makes sense as a feature for your product.
