Overview: Storytelling is a fundamental part of game design, but game documentation is notorious for being dry, distant and generally unreadable. Our documents should ignite the creative fire in our teams, provoke conversation and help everyone on the project understand the vision of the game. We can make our documentation more powerful by using some of the principles native to comic art. Framing our designs as player narratives ensures that we design for people, not users, and the visual presentation of information that is the basis of the comic form allows us to put our designs to the test quickly and cheaply, before burning precious development time.
