How Do Games Go Viral? Making Games for YouTube

Overview:

This session will provide insight into the YouTube and Twitch games market by offering tips for developers on how to best prepare their game to achieve web video attention. The talk begins with an explanation of the state of games media on YouTube with a focus on how to best enlist and utilize influencer's support. From there, the session integrates a number of examples including Minecraft, DayZ, Happy Wheels and TwitchPlaysPokemon, to better illustrate the elements of games that translate well into public attention. The session will end with a prediction of where the games market will evolve, followed by Q&A.
