Overview: Not much is being done with textures in the vertex shader. The usage so far has been limited and purely experimental. There are some use cases in video games but Mario believes there should be a bigger place for it in this medium. He will present usage of textures in vertex shader as cheaper alternative solutions to established methods. He will also present a new technique in the animation pipeline that bypasses the CPU and enables him to increase the bone count dramatically.
