Overview: Kinect is the next evolution of the Xbox 360 platform and truly feels like the launch of an exciting and entirely new technology. But what is it like to help build such a platform? How is this different from building a title for it, and is this different for 1st party and 3rd party developers? In this fascinating lecture Microsoft 1st party developer Rare have joined forces with 3rd party developer Blitz Game Studios to give a unique insight into building launch titles for this new technology while it was still developing.

Nick Burton and Andrew Oliver will talk about their recent experiences building Kinect launch titles and how this affected development in their respective studios. How Kinect fitted it into their game engines. How design was affected. How they built on top of changing technology. Why they developed their own technology and how they both helped development of the Kinect platform from very different perspectives.
