Overview: This session uses the recently announced The Settlers Online from Bluebyte/Ubisoft as a reference how classic game design rules need to be adapted to work with free to play games. This covers the change of thinking a classic game designer has to undergo in order to make successful f2p games and touches pay item design, monetarization and retention strategies. Attendees will take away some fundamentals how to design f2p games which can be used either for social games or browser games.
