This talk aims to provide a framework for successfully publishing mobile games on smartphone platforms, with a specific focus on PopCap Games' experience on iOS (iPhone / iPad) and Android, and on the differentiating factors of each environment. Topics covered will include: strategic implications of choosing a platform over the other, or of publishing the same game on both; choosing iOS or Android based on your game and on your target audience; implications of publishing in a closed environment (iOS) vs publishing in an open environment with a multitude of channels; publishing an ongoing service that evolves over time and implementing business models based on in-app monetization on each platform, with case studies.
