This highly practical session aims to educate and empower indie developers looking to contract a composer or sound designer for their next game. It will provide a deeper understanding of this process and offer solutions for reducing cost. The focus will be on three key areas: 1) Exploiting interactive music and sound systems in order to increase player engagement, extend asset longevity, and optimize cost. 2) Analysis of a work-for-hire contract, focusing on copyrights and negotiation techniques. 3) A look at typical indie audio budgets and in-depth cost breakdowns for music, sound effects and dialogue assets.
