Session Name: | To Catch a Fraud: Mining Social Network Data for Negative Play |
Speaker(s): | Joshua Clark |
Company Name(s): | USC Annenberg School |
Track / Format: | Community |
Overview: | Cheaters never win but sometimes they prosper, and when they do, player satisfaction suffers. This session explores how to use relational data (such as social or trading networks) to track and catch people who are lowering the quality of a game by exploiting other players. This data can be used to learn what forms negative behavior takes, how it influences other players, and potentially serve as the basis for creating models to identify potentially negative influences before they can damage others. |
