The ARM Guide to Unity shows developers how to get the most out of Unity when developing under the unique challenges of mobile platforms.The talk offers a preview of the next release of the ARM Guide to Unity and highlights the most relevant rendering effects that will be described in it. These effects are not limited to Unity and can be relevant for developers of any game platform. The presenters share important hints and tips to develop efficient games. Advanced rendering effects will be covered in more detail such as reflections based on local cubemap. A new way of rendering dynamic real-time shadows based on the use of static local cube textures will be revealed. This innovative technique allows for the dramatic improvement of performance and quality when rendering shadows which is especially relevant on mobile devices where the use of available resources must be carefully balanced.
