Overview:

In this talk, Dustin Adair, the owner of Scary Robot Productions, shares how a small game developer managed to get permission to create a game based on the beloved Tribble from Star Trek loreas well as how they secured a license to create a game based on the classic 1960s TV series, Lost in Space. Dustin will detail exactly how it all came about and what the best strategies are for developers looking to work with an existing intellectual property, going into the advantages and disadvantages that come along with working with an existing IP and their license holders. Finally, he'll go into the use of a public domain IP, which doesn't require any licensing but may come with its own limitations.
