Visual Effects Summit: 'NARAKA: BLADEPOINT': Combat Effect Optimization Strategy for Multiplayer Games

Overview:

NARAKA: BLADEPOINT is a world-renowned multiplayer survival competitive game, and multiplayer fighting on the same screen is a very important feature. Similarly, there are a variety of special effect types in the game, including combat, skins, and terrain. These special effects are the artistic creations of special effects artists, which bring players a very important gaming experience. However, special effects tend to require a bit of performance for such a massively multiplayer game, and it's important to not reduce the creative performance of special effects artists because of performanceso studios need to focus on how to support special effects artists from the very beginning of production, and not bring unacceptable performance consumption.During this session, Xing Lieu and Xing star Liu will introduce their solutions: a reasonable and simplified workflow, and how to deal with the performance optimization when a large number of special effects appear at the same time when multiple people are on the same screen.
