Overview:

Released in 1979, some TRS-80 games featured amazing mechanics that have been completely forgotten. Each contains a proven kernel of brilliance that can inspire modern game developers. This presentation is a live recreation of the best parts of the TRS-80 experience. The snapshot ability of TRS-80 emulation software will highlight portions of 30 games. Attendees will not be exposed to well known gameplay/titles/menus, nor be bored by canned footage.

Finding these games is beyond the reach of most. Rather than navigate the idiosyncrasies of TRS-80 emulation software, research which games are worth remembering, and master the unforgiving gameplay, developers can instead attend this presentation. In-between games, we'll reflect on how modern issues were viewed 30 years ago. Cloning, sequels, art games, licensed games, AAA and Indie scenes all existed, and distance will provide today's developers with insight into their future.
