This classic design-production-business post mortem takes a look how this happens, from the earliest design meetings through the changes it went through during the tumultuous pre-launch weeks. We'll use one of our top titles as the subject for a detailed case study to illustrate these concepts. As the game evolves, the postmortem also follows it post-launch, including a look at how it quickly leapfrogged over an established field of competitor games, how it dealt with early scaling issues as it faced unexpected early growth, and how it has responded to the player community.
