Session Name:

Land of the Rising Revenue: How Mobile Social Gaming Became a $1B Business in Asia and Lessons Learned for US Developers

Overview:

America has an interesting relationship with the Asian gaming industry. The US has taken cues from Asia resulting in American success stories like Zynga, which adopted an Asian social gaming model. More recently, Japan has established a billion dollar mobile social gaming community that America is now starting to emulate. Tomoko Namba, CEO of Japan's DeNA, was integral in building that community and is now bringing her company to America. She will discuss how the market exploded in Japan and how American developers can achieve similar success while increasing consumer appeal in virtual goods.
