3D Hope: Designing Games to Teach Kids to Use Prosthetic Arms (Presented by UCF SVAD/Limbitless Games)

Overview:

Limbitless Solutions is a non-profit organization housed in the University of Central Florida. Their mission is to provide expressive prosthetic arms to children. This session will explain the process of designing and building expressive 3D printed arms, delivering them to children, and creating a training game that teaches them how to use the arm. The presentation will show behind the scenes of all aspects of the project including some preliminary data on the effectiveness of the games. The presentation will also give insight on the impact of these arms and the games on the children receiving them.
