Overview:

This session discusses the creation and evolution of cinematics for the Gears of War Trilogy. The IP started around the launch of a new console cycle and the team at Epic Games had to adopt new methods for the production of next-gen cinematics. Story content increased during the making of Gears 2 and Gears 3, so the developers made advances in their cinematic process to accommodate the titles. Learn how through trial and error, a small team of artists revamped the way they approached production, motion capture, presentation and the toolsets used to produce over 3 hours of cinematic content for the Gears of War series.
