Overview: |
Last year Rumpus released the first episode of The Adventurers of Bertram Fiddle, a point and click adventure game with tons of animation and dialogue. Since they were a small team, a big focus was to reduce the workload when working with so much content. In this talk Alexander will share the solutions they came up with including: Automation: See how repetitive tasks can be eliminated which results in fewer bugs and a better use of resources on the team. A semi-automatic lip syncing system will be used as an example. Custom workflow:. A practical showcase of how a custom made user interface allowed both animators and programmers on the team to setup cut scenes and puzzles. Keep track of missing assets: With the use of naming conventions and a bit of coding you can automatically generate lists of what content you are still missing in the game. Making games involves making a lot of mistakes: Learn how to create a workflow that lets you find them fast. |
