Session Name:

From Animated Films to VR: Adding Emotional Components to Aid Immersion

Overview:

Drawing on their years of experience at Pixar Animation Studios and Telltale Games creating immersive cinematic content, Andrew Dayton and Jason Topolski of HTC-backed Steel Wool Studios will outline the key elements of creating narrative-driven content in VR, which leans heavily on lessons learned from other mediums. The immersive capabilities of VR give creative storytellers new opportunities to create emotional experiences that tug at the virtual hearts of their audience. Andrew and Jason will discuss how they took lessons learned working on some of the most emotionally impactful animated films and applied it to their own projects.
