Overview: Making games is as much an attitude as it is a profession. As such, it requires a specific mindset. This talk is rooted in experience gained from 15 years of teaching this specific mindset. The core of this talk is a teaching philosophy that aims to give game students (independent of specialization in art, design, or technology) ways of understanding the essence of what they work with. Concrete examples of the application of this philosophy are explored across curriculum design, course design, and exercise design.
