Overview: | One of the best tools for teaching a critical literacy of games are games themselves. Name a topic and there is a way to teach it through gameplay. Want to explore continuity and consistency in storytelling? How about shuffling a deck of story cards. What about gender dynamics? Maybe run a street game mod around gender stereotypes. This year, this session will shift focus to games in broader higher education. Instead of people teaching inside game programs, this group of speakers teach games inside other disciplines and programs: from English to Business, Industrial Design to Sociology, and Entertainment Technologies to Anthropology. |
