Overview: Composer Austin Wintory offers a post-mortem of his complex adaptive score to the Full Motion Video game ERICA. Due to the film-like nature of the game, the score became a laboratory for truly exploring the age-old question of "What are the differences between film scoring and game scoring?" That question, along with the normal post-mortem topics of the project's origins, musical development and final recording processes, will frame the talk. Finally, Wintory will detail the immensely difficult task it was to adapt to the game's unique challenge of existing at the precise intersection of film and game.
