Session Name: | Leveraging Your Data |
Speaker(s): | Dmitri Williams |
Company Name(s): | University of Southern California |
Track / Format: | Business and Management |
Overview: | The session will cover modeling user behaviors with data captured from game logs and surveys. These predictive models can be used to estimate and confirm why players leave, how to target particular kinds of players (who may be assets or liabilities), and how to increase microtransactions. The results can be leveraged by the design team (where are the problem spots in the level/quest/game), the community management team (who are the players we want to protect and who are the ones who cost us?), and the business and marketing teams (what causes players to come, spend or leave?). Insights and results will be presented from both Dmitri's work and that of Turiya Media, a leading venture-backed company focused on enabling publishers of online games to target and segment players using predictive data mining. |
