Overview: In this lecture speakers will present a condensed version of their GDC lecture this year, which explored the concept of sporadic-play games - games which intentionally limit the ability of players to interact with them. Examples of these games include FARMVILLE, SOCIAL CITY and several other popular social network games which work very well for busy players with limited time. The latter half of the lecture focuses on the advances in this area of gaming over the half-a-year since GDC and explores more deeply the specific mechanics that have been successful in this genre and the future possibilities for sporadic-play.
