Naval experiences and water technology have been an immensely important part of Ubisoft Singapore's history, identity, and success. They have been involved in the water tech advancements and innovations of numerous open world titlessince the naval experience began with Assassin's Creed 3 and culminating in the upcoming Skull and Bones.In this talk, Kris Kirkpatrick, Lead Technical Director, Art at Ubisoft Singapore, covers the inception, history, and improvements across the various titles, explore the underlying tech and rendering features for our ocean and river technologies. It serves not only as a technical dive into how water simulations and visual features function, but also provides insight into the challenges that come with building an open-world multiplayer naval experience.
