Overview: | Sustaining a diverse pipeline of game designers, developers and artists entails more than recruiting and inclusive environments. It requires a systemic approach that develops community naturally, avoids alienating dominant and minority groups and employs sustainable, persistent engagement. Drawing from more than a decade of teaching in for-profit, state funded and private higher education, the panel offers specific recommendations on how to improve diversity in the game classroom from educators and administrators. This panel serves as a first-hand postmortem for the many years of diversity and inclusion efforts. What's helped, what's hurt, and what's going to work in the future. |
